Just arrived back from the annual American Research Center in Egypt (ARCE) conference in Washington, DC. There the latest research on ancient Egypt was presented. Plus, I had the opportunity to go to the Egyptian Queens exhibit at the National Geographic Museum, which was better than I expected. Overall, a great trip where I got to see a lot of old friends and meet some new ones.
Above is a photo I took of the statue of Keret that I took at the National Geographic Museum. Keret was overseer of the royal herem. He lived during the 18th Dynasty and the statue dates to Amenhotep II or Thutmosis IV.
